Yoga for Back Pain Management

Chronic pain, limited mobility, and even episodic debilitation from back pain can be alleviated with simple yogic postures, movement patterns, and targeted breathing exercises. I will design a custom plan to help you navigate out of pain and into ease. This is a slow and controlled practice that blends gentle movement and stretching as well as strength building and stabilization exercises. Together over time we will address not only the problematic area, but also the surrounding muscle groups and connective tissues  that contribute to tightness in the joints and compression of vertebrae. Working together continuously will guide you out of pain and into ease, but will also prevent future episodes and prepare you to nip them in the bud should your symptoms return.

Yoga for Mindfulness and Restoration

A holistic yoga practice just  for you that weaves together simple movements, intentional breathing techniques,  restful restorative postures, and guided meditation to encourage a sense of calm and spaciousness in mind, body, and spirit.  This sense of spaciousness can be referred to as mindfulness - a calm awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally to the unfolding of experience. Mindfulness is an alert but nonreactive stance in attention that calms the nervous system, lowers blood pressure, improves heart rate variability, and increases overall wellbeing.  These sessions are suitable for EVERYBODY but especially for those managing busy schedules or challenging life circumstances.

Regardless of speciality, each session weaves together yoga asana, pranayama (breathing exercises), and guided meditation depending on the needs and goals of the individual.
